A ghost
Broke out of a hanging frame
Is crashing on the couch again
Ask him if it bothers me.
And even if it take a blade to my throat
After writing notes and blowing smoke
Monday morning had its hopes
So tempting yet so solemn.
Another wasted night, a useless fight, a sharpened knife.
It’s just like a rose
A road trip alone
May always finds it’s way to pull me apart.
But now that I know
That all of these wolves
Are after the same exact thing as me.
You think I should know
Every word that passes through your pompous lips
but you’ve
got your trigger finger close to your hip
in case things start to
go my way.
Now I am not afraid the dark anymore
I’ve got a better attitude
and finding out that I’ve got so much more to offer
I know you’ve got the best intentions
but something tells me that I should mention
all of the lights of your high rise life
make things a little too bright for me
It’s just like a rose
A road trip alone
May always finds it’s way to pull me apart.
But now that I know
That all of these wolves
Are after the same exact thing as me.
You think I should know
Every word that passes through your pompous lips
but you’ve
got your trigger finger close to your hip
in case things start to
go my way.
Bridge:
Call me Ted Hughes
I’ll let your garden grow at night
And if you so choose
That you don’t need me to keep you warm.
I can’t and won’t change (for her or for you or for me or for him)
I’m the best me that you’ll get
If you don’t agree then go join her…
It’s just like a rose
A road trip alone
May always finds it’s way to pull me apart.
But now that I know
That all of these wolves
Are after the same exact thing as me.
You think I should know
Every word that passes through your pompous lips
but you’ve
got your trigger finger close to your hip
in case things start to
go my way.
This went too fast
I’m glad you’re home
We can’t forget
That vicious road.
That ghost is me
And you’re a light
From a car that won’t
Slow down in time.
Call me Ted Hughes
If you so choose
Call me bad news.
